Terms of Service
These terms apply when a school, or a person acting for a school, signs up for and uses Jusqlik. Please read them before you start a free term.
1. The agreement
By signing up, you confirm that you are authorised to act for your school and that the school accepts these terms. "School" includes a school group or trust where several branches are signed up together. "Service" means the Jusqlik web application, staff app, parent app and related support.
2. The free term
- A new school can use the Service free for 30 days from the day its account is created.
- The free term is available once per school, and covers one school or branch.
- At the end of the free term the school can choose a paid plan. If it does not, access is paused and the school can export its data for 30 more days.
3. Plans and billing
- Plans are priced per student per year, based on the number of enrolled students at the start of the billing year.
- Students added during the year are billed pro rata at the next quarterly review.
- Fees are invoiced yearly in advance. Applicable taxes are added to the invoice.
- SMS messages used as a fallback to the app are billed at carrier cost and shown in the school's dashboard.
- Prices for the next billing year may change, and the school will be told at least 60 days before renewal.
4. School data
All student, parent, staff and fee records entered into the Service belong to the school. The school gives us permission to process that data only to provide the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy. The school can export its data at any time.
5. The school's responsibilities
- Enter accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Obtain the consents needed from parents and staff for the data it enters and the messages it sends.
- Give staff the roles and access they need, and remove access when staff leave.
- Keep login details private and tell us promptly about any unauthorised use.
6. Acceptable use
The Service must not be used to send messages unrelated to the school, to harass or discriminate against any student, parent or staff member, to upload unlawful content, or to try to access another school's data or interfere with the Service.
7. Teacher AI
Teacher AI produces draft lesson plans, worksheets and question papers. Drafts may contain errors. Teachers are responsible for reviewing and approving any draft before it is used with students. Teacher AI is not used to grade students or make decisions about them.
8. Online fee payments
Online fee payments are processed by licensed payment partners under the school's agreement with that partner, and settled to the school's bank account. We do not hold school fee money. Payment disputes and refunds of fees paid by parents are handled by the school.
9. Availability and support
We work to keep the Service available at all times and schedule planned maintenance outside school hours where possible. Support is provided through the channels included in the school's plan.
10. Ending the agreement
- The school can choose not to renew at the end of any billing year.
- We may suspend access if invoices remain unpaid for 30 days after the due date, after giving notice, or immediately for serious misuse.
- After the agreement ends, the school has 30 days to export its data before deletion begins.
11. Liability
The Service is provided with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, our total liability in any year is limited to the fees the school paid for that year, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Chennai have jurisdiction over any dispute.
